Nooks and Crannies

Today is my last day in SPORT Manchester and I would like to thank everyone for a fantastic two and a half years. The team provides a range of activities and projects for university students and staff and our local communities including lunchtime yoga sessions, fitness classes and children’s holiday clubs (for more information visit http://www.sport.manchester.ac.uk/)

With my official start date as Library Space Project Manager fast approaching, I’ve been spending more time with individual members of the design team and library staff in order to further my knowledge of the whole project and its unique context. Three to four years for the final delivery of the project may seem a long way off, but I’m sure many of you will agree that the annual academic cycle finishes as quickly as it starts. Each phase of the project over this period will pass very quickly.

It’s been very enjoyable looking in the nooks and crannies of the Main Library and don’t be surprised if you find me lost and wandering around sections of Orange 3. Senior Faculty Operations Officer Colin O’Neil will be taking me on a tour of a number of other sites and I’m also planning to spend time at the Joule Library over the coming weeks.

I look forward to meeting more of the Library team and working full time on the project.

Don’t forget that the Library Choir will be performing at St Peter’s House 1.15-2pm on Monday 22nd June.

Thanks for reading,

Mike Kelly.
